Have some questions about Escape Room Long Beach or about room escapes in general? We’ve answered some common questions for you!

Room Questions

What exactly IS an escape room?

An escape room is a live-action, puzzle-solving experience. You and a small team are “trapped” in a room and have one hour to find clues, solve puzzles, and use your brain to “escape”.

Why are there “air quotes” around “trapped” and “escape” in the previous answer?

Because you’re never actually trapped in a room. There will always be a way to leave the room in case of emergency. The door you enter the room from will always be unlocked.

So your escape rooms aren’t scary?

No. There is nothing to be afraid of with our escape rooms. The only fear you will experience is watching the timer tick down.

What is the age requirement for your rooms?

We do not have a set age requirement, but the minimum recommended age is 14. We require parental/guardian supervision of all minors.

How long is an escape room?

The maximum time allowed for our escape rooms is 1 hour.

Can I use my phone?

No. Phones, cameras, and recording devices cannot be used in our rooms. Every puzzle will be solvable without the use of your cell phone.

How many people are in a room at one time?

We recommend 4-5 participants in every room. The maximum number of people in one room is 6, but there is no effective minimum. The fewer people participating, the tougher the escape room is.

Will I have to participate with strangers?

No. We do not sell individual tickets to any of our rooms.

What if I want to just do the room by myself?

Groups of 1 or 2 are allowed, but not recommended. The minimum cost per room is $105 for groups of 1 and 2. That’s the same price as a group of 3.

What if the room is too hard and our group gets stuck?

Just ask for help! Game masters will steer your group in the right direction.

Any tips?

Communicate, communicate, communicate. Find a clue? Make sure everyone knows about it! Others may need that clue to solve a puzzle they are looking at. Find a key? Make sure everyone knows about it! Find a new puzzle? Make sure everyone…you get the idea.

What CAN’T we do?

Well, please please PLEASE don’t destroy the room. We PROMISE we do not hide anything behind the walls, electrical outlets, secret floorboards, or anything clearly marked as off-limits. There will never be a need to move heavy objects – if you can’t move an object easily with two fingers, you don’t have to move the object. Locks should NEVER be forced open. They will open with the right passcode, combination, or key. Game masters will re-lock anything that is forced open.

To recap:

  • Do not punch through walls (you’ll hurt your hand)
  • Do not remove electrical outlets (you’ll shock yourself)
  • Do not kick through the floor (you’ll hurt your foot)
  • Do not move heavy items (you’ll hurt your back)
  • Do not force open locks (you’ll hurt our feelings)

Scheduling Questions

When can I reserve a room?

Rooms are available weeknights and weekends. Please see our scheduling calendar for available appointments.

None of those times work for me. Can I reserve a room at a different time?

Possibly. Please email us for special schedule requests.

Are walk-ins allowed?

No. We are located in an often locked office building and may not always be physically present during business hours.

Are same day appointments allowed?

Sometimes. Rooms should be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Please call or email to request an appointment with fewer than 24 hours notice. We cannot guarantee same day availability.

When should we arrive?

Guests should arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment. Timers will start on time to make sure we can prepare the room for the next group.

Oh no! I can’t make my schedule time anymore!

While we cannot issue refunds, we can reschedule your appointment with 48 hours notice. Check your confirmation email for a link to view or change your booking up to 48 hours in advance. We may or may not be able to reschedule with less than 48 hours notice. Send us an email and we’ll see what we can do.

What is your no-show policy?

We do not offer refunds for no-shows. We can offer a significant discount if your group has a valid reason for missing the room and still want to attempt it at a later date.

Pricing Questions

What is the cost of your escape rooms?

The base price per room is $35/person, but that number goes down with more participants. The pricing structure is as follows:

  • 3 people: $35/person
  • 4 people: $30/person
  • 5 people: $27/person
  • 6 people: $27/person

Do you offer discounts or promotions?

Yes! Many discounts and promotions can be found on our social media pages.

I bought a room for 3 people and now more people want to go.

No problem. Add-on guests will be charged at the door.

I bought a room for 5 people, but now some people don’t want to go.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund for no-shows. But, since we don’t specify WHICH 5 people the room is for, feel free to invite other people as replacements.
